GelSight Gives You Superhuman Vision Down to One Micron

For comparison, a micrometer, commonly known as a micron, is one-millionth of a meter, one-thousandth of a millimeter, or 1,000 nanometers. A strand of human hair is about 100 microns wide, and a red blood cell is approximately 8 microns in diameter. GelSight products provide objective, repeatable, high-resolution scan data that detects defects such as scratches, corrosion, and edge wear with micron-level accuracy.
